Lead traditional worship services.
Provide pastoral care through visitation of elderly, hospitalized, and homebound members.

Position Title: Director of Children’s Ministry
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Employment Type: Part-Time (Estimated 10–15 hours/week)
Location: Providence Baptist Church, Campbellsburg, KY
Church Size: 75–100 weekly attendees

Position Summary:

The Director of Children’s Ministry at Providence Baptist Church will lead a Christ-centered children’s ministry that partners with families in the discipleship of children (birth through 6th grade), with a strong focus on outreach to unchurched families in the community. This role emphasizes a family equipping model of family ministry, where parents are equipped as the primary disciplers of their children. The Director will oversee ministry programs that not only engage children but also serve as a bridge to reach the broader community and invite families into the life of the church.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead & Oversee Ministry Programs:
- Collaborate with the existing Children’s Ministry Committee and other leaders to develop and implement Sunday morning children’s discipleship programs, nursery, and midweek programs that nurture spiritual growth in children.
- Collaborate with current volunteers to organize and lead special outreach events, such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), family events, community service projects, and holiday programs that engage both church families and those outside the church.
- Create a welcoming and evangelistic environment for families that are new to the church, focusing on building relationships and inviting them into the broader life of Providence Baptist Church.
Family Discipleship & Equipping:
- Equip parents to be the primary disciplers of their children by providing tools, resources, and training that empower them to lead in faith at home.
- Encourage families to live out their faith in everyday life, modeling discipleship in the home, and reaching out to their neighborhoods.
Outreach & Community Engagement:
- Lead intentional outreach efforts that invite unchurched families in the community to join Providence Baptist’s children’s ministry programs.
- Create and implement strategies for reaching local schools, neighborhoods, and families who may not currently attend church, including community outreach events, school partnerships, and building relationships with parents in the area.
- Work closely with church leadership to integrate children’s ministry outreach into the overall church outreach strategy, focusing on sharing the gospel and fostering relationships that lead to discipleship.
Volunteer Recruitment & Training:
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to serve in children’s ministry, ensuring they are aligned with the vision of family discipleship and outreach.
- Build a team of volunteers who are passionate about engaging children and families and who serve as role models for faith, with a focus on developing relationships with both children and their parents.
Ministry Alignment & Oversight:
- Ensure that all aspects of children’s ministry are in alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, emphasizing sound biblical teaching.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a cohesive, gospel-centered children’s ministry curriculum that encourages both faith formation and outreach.
Administrative & Organizational Support:
- Maintain accurate budget, volunteer schedules, and ministry materials and be ready to present reports at leadership and business meetings.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and other ministry leaders

Qualifications:

A mature man or woman with a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating a commitment to biblical truth.
Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Experience in children’s ministry, family ministry, or related fields, and an evangelistic heart for outreach.
A passion for reaching unchurched families and building relationships that lead to spiritual transformation.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to connect well with children, parents, and volunteers, fostering a welcoming, relational environment.
Must pass a background check and comply with Providence Baptist’s child protection policies.

Work Hours & Compensation:

This is a part-time position requiring approximately 10–15 hours per week.
Hours are flexible, but must include Sunday mornings and some availability for outreach events, community partnerships, and planning during the week.
Compensation will be $200 paid weekly.
