Scholarships

Luis & Raquel Salazar

International Mission Trip Scholarship

NCBN offers partial scholarships to members of Network churches that are going on short-term international mission trips. These scholarships are funded by the Luis & Raquel Salazar Memorial Fund for International Missions. For many years, this fund has helped church members go on mission with their church to Honduras, Ireland, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Ukraine, Thailand, and Indonesia. Churches and church members can support this effort by giving directly to the Salazar Memorial Fund.

A brochure highlighting the work of Luis Salazar and his daughter Raquel can be downloaded by clicking HERE. A Salazar International Mission Trip Scholarship application can also be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Thank you for your support of the Salazar Memorial Fund and for helping fellow believers from NCBN churches go around the world with the Gospel of Christ.

John & Paul Barnett

Fund for Missions

The John & Paul Barnett Fund was created to honor the lives of John Barnett and his son, Paul. These two men served the Lord in Shelby County as leaders in their church and association. Paul often said, “Let us work together to glorify God.” Many of our churches have given faithfully to this fund for missions as a way to honor the Christian service of the Barnetts and to encourage missions participation in others. The North Central Baptist Network is currently focusing the use of these mission funds in three ways:

1) Encouraging and helping NCBN church members by awarding Domestic Mission Trip Scholarships (download application here);

2) Helping NCBN churches by providing One-Time Church Missions Start-up Grants (application coming soon); and

3) Helping NCBN churches by providing Emergency Church Relief Grants for severe emergencies related to facility damage from tornado, flood, fire, etc… (download application here);

The Dr. Larry Orange Equipping the Called Scholarship

Supporting NCBN ministers as they prepare for service!

In the spring of 2012, the Henry County Baptist Association used $20,000 to create an endowed scholarship fund out of which scholarships could be awarded to pastors and ministers serving in HCBA churches.

In 2022, Henry County Baptist Association merged with Shelby Baptist Association and Oldham-Trimble Baptist Association to become the North Central Baptist Network. At the Fall 2023 Annual Meeting, the Henry County Seminary Scholarship fund was renamed the Dr. Larry Orange Equipping the Called Scholarship Fund and two scholarships were awarded.

The Church Health and Leadership Team of the Network has the responsibility of making this award each year. Churches and church members can support this effort by giving directly to the Dr. Larry Orange Equipping the Called Scholarship via Tithe.ly (use the “DONATE” button on the top right corner) or by writing a check to the NCBN and put in the Memo line “Dr. Larry Orange Scholarship” and mail to the office at PO Box 1148, Shelbyville, KY 40066.

A brochure highlighting the ministry of Dr. Larry Orange can be downloaded by clicking HERE. The Dr. Larry Orange Equipping the Called Scholarship application can also be downloaded by clicking HERE.

Thank you for your support of the the Dr. Larry Orange Equipping the Called Scholarship and for supporting ministers from NCBN churches as they prepare for their service in Christ.
